"Worse Than Carter"

The conclusion of R. Emmett Tyrrell, Jr.:
I now think it is clear even to Official Washington that President Obama is the worst president of modern times. President Jimmy Carter is redeemed.

I say "Wow!" because I've followed the judgments of the founder and editor-in-chief of The American Spectator about James Earl Carter for some years now and it is impossible to relay adequately his disdain for the country's first peanut farmer president. He mocked Clinton, to be sure, "Boy President", but he despised Carter and never missed an opportunity, there were plenty, to showcase his disdain.

So, I say again, wow!

  1. Jimmy Carter will never be redeemed, at least politically. He is far and away the worst President of modern times, and the worst ex-President ever....

  2. "The worst ex-President ever...."? Let's give Obama a chance to compete, and soon.

  3. Even if President Obama ends up being a critical, spiteful, caustic, and bitter ex-president, I don't know that he could ever surpass President Carter in any of those. Former President Carter showed what he is made of when he used Rosa Park's funeral to bad-mouth a sitting (Republican) president. It was an abomination, and an incredible display of his complete lack of class, respect, and decorum. Even former President Bill Clinton knows how to behave better than that, as he demonstrated when he spoke at Ronald Reagan's funeral. President Carter utterly disgusts me and is an embarassment, no matter his efforts on behalf of Habitat for Humanity. Any one who claims to have the moral high ground and behaves that way deserves only the respect accorded every human being, and certainly not that normally reserved for an ex-President. I feel better!!!

  4. You have an ally sf. And you know her too.

  5. What an insightful analysis from Lavender re the slack-jawed, droopy-ass wimp who served as our 39th president. This self-righteous prig is the first and only ex-president to criticize a sitting president overseas. BTW, Lavender seems to share the Sage's "Harrumph" gene.
